Innocently overlooks the truth

This is my first ever standalone.
Well.. I've written one before, but that was just a translation of me danish assignment. xD
I don't know why I choose Danny.. but I did. Smile

I actually think he fits the best to my description.
and as you can probably see, I got inspired by Taylor Swift's song I'd Lie.

You wouldn’t believe what I know. I’ve only known him for nearly two years,
but I already know everything about him.
His favourite colour is blue, because when he was younger,
every Saturday night his dad would take him out on a boat, to look into the sky.
He hates pasta, because they look like worms.
His mum wanted him to be a writer, but he became a musician instead.
He’s interested in art, although he won’t let it show.
He finds classic music relaxing and he listens to it every night to fall asleep.. and so on.
I know pretty much everything.
Well, I thought I did, until a couple of days ago.

’Never.’
’Never?’ I asked, hoping he was lying.
‘Nope, never.’ He said, almost proud of his statement.
‘Oh.’ I sighed, trying to fake a small laugh.
Someone called for him. ‘Got to go, hun’. They need me on stage.’ He winked, before hugging me.
I held my breath as I watched him walk onto the stage and take his position.
‘Good luck.’ I whispered.

He’s never going to fall in love. He told me that. I wish I knew why.
Why not find a girl who you’ll spend the rest of your life with, someone you love?
I also remember every moment we’ve spent together.
We’ve been camping, skiing, we’ve had loads of movie-nights and just had a lot of fun.
We’ve done everything. Laser-tag, mountain climbing, bungee jump.
The clearest memory, though, is how we met.

’Excuse me?’ Someone tapped my shoulder. I turned around to find two, glistening, blue eyes and got lost. ’
Sorry to bother you, but could you tell me if there’s a gas station with a toilet somewhere near?’
I tried to open my mouth, but it wouldn’t. ’Um.. Hello?’ He said, waving a hand in front of my eyes.
’Oh.. Sorry!’ I muttered tearing my eyes away from his, to find my shoes. ’What were you saying?’
’Do you know where the nearest toilet is?’ He smiled.
I looked up again. ’Um.. There’s probably a toilet in there.’ I said, pointing to the house in front of us,
completely missing the hint of his need to use one.
’One I could possibly use?’ He said, with a slightly annoyed, but still amused, look on his face.
’Ohhh..’ I said. Crap! And now I’ve made fool out of myself, I thought. ’You must think I’m pretty dumb now, don’t you?’ I sighed.
He nodded with a sly smile.
’Yeah.. Well, got to go.. Nice meeting you.’ I said, starting to turn around.
’I still need a toilet.’ He burst out.
I turned around to see him smirk. I chuckled lightly.
’You still want my help? Even after I revealed the true me?’ I asked, sceptically.
’It really doesn’t change that I have to do a monster poo.’ I cringed my face and he seemed to notice.
’Oh.. Too much information. I tend to do that. Blurt out everything on my mind, you know?’ He said, shyly.
’Yeah.. I know…. And now we are even..’ I smiled mischievously ’We’ve both made an arse of ourselves.’
My smiled faded a bit. ’You can use mine, I live just down the road, but on one condition.’ I turned to him, trying to look sincere.
’You clean up after yourself!’

My minds always occupied by all the little things he does.
The things I love the most are how he finds it funny every time someone sneezes,
but always hides his face when he does it himself. I love how his nose cringles every time he smells a smell he likes
and how his eyes lighten up whenever he sees a new guitar in the guitar store.
If he’s happy, it takes a lot to put him down, that I noticed from the beginning.
He has always loved women.. but not the kind of love you feel towards you family or girlfriend,
no, he loves women because they’re.. well, women.
He finds a new one every week just to get her into bed and dump her four day later,
when he has become bored and every time I have to listen to how she was, why he picked her and why he dumped her.
That’s Danny to you. Danny ’I’m never going to fall in love’ Jones.
My best friend Danny. The guy I’ve loved since I met him for the first time.

I’m still waiting though. I’ve waited for two years, without luck.
I’ve tried to show him, but he has overlooked everything.
I guess his thickness is getting to his head.
I am always there. Always have been and always will be.
Even if I'll have to wait forever, I’ll hold my breath.
I’ll hold my breath for him, until the day my miracle will happen.

But until that day, if you’ll ever ask me; ’Do you love him like that?’ - I’d lie.
